Cameron B. Chiarot, MBA, PhD

I am a healthcare executive, educator, and health economist with 20 years of senior leadership experience in Canadian public-sector health organizations. I use quantitative modelling to examine health system resilience, access, and value, and educate health leaders to support informed, evidence-based decision-making.

Health systems frequently discuss access; however, they typically measure utilization. The gap between the two is where systems fail people, and it is where my work is focused.

Leadership

Senior leadership roles across hospitals, health authorities, and research institutes, encompassing capital programs valued at up to CAD $100 million, the development of new health facilities, and governance in the not-for-profit sector.

Research

Health system resilience to climate shocks in Western Province, Zambia, and the economics of the HPTN 071 (PopART) trial with Imperial College London. More on my research →

Teaching

Adjunct Professor at the Schulich School of Business, where I designed and teach Value and Quality in Healthcare (MHIA 6160), and Sessional Lecturer in the Master of Public Health program at the University of Waterloo. More on my teaching →

I am seeking leadership opportunities in applied research, innovation, and education across public agencies, health systems, research institutes, universities, and colleges. The best way to reach me is by email or LinkedIn.
